Accreditation Matters
Accredited training means your qualification stands out from the competition, trusted by employers, insurers and industry professionals. It ensures our training meets the very highest standards and will successfully equip you with the skills to confidently start your new career, or take your existing career to the next level.
Insurance Options For Graduates of The Beauty Academy
Once you have successfully completed your course, your next step will be to obtain professional liability insurance. This protects both your clients and you, allowing you to work legally and safely in the industry, with protection in the event of a situation arising as part of your work.
We have partnered with leading beauty insurance providers to ensure you can get the right level of cover for you and your business.
What is Insurance?
Public liability insurance: This protects businesses, sole traders, and freelancers against costs arising from a third-party claim of injury, death, or property damage caused by their business activities. While not a legal requirement, it is essential protection for any business interacting with the public or working on-site to cover compensation, repair costs, and legal fees.
Professional Treatment Liability Insurance: This protects professionals, such as beauty therapists, holistic therapists, nail technicians and make up artists against claims of bodily injury, mental injury, or death resulting from negligent treatment, errors, or omissions during their work. It covers legal defense costs and compensation payments, often functioning as an extension of public liability insurance to cover active treatments rather than just accidental injury, for example in the event a client has an allergic reaction to treatment or through therapist malpractice.
The Beauty Academy Recommendations
Once qualified, you can obtain insurance from a wide range of insurance providers to cover you while delivering your treatments. Note some insurance providers may have restrictions on who or which treatments they can provide cover for, or specific pre-requisites to be able to provide cover. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure a policy is suitable for their needs. We cannot guarantee any specific individual will be eligible for insurance. If working outside the UK, international requirements regarding insurance and licensing can vary significantly by country, and state (US). The Beauty Academy are not responsible for meeting any regulations individuals must meet for their own country’s insurance / licensing standards. Also note eligibility for insurance does not imply you’ll also meet requirements for licensing with your local authority, which is applicable in some UK towns and cities when working in-salon or in a home based salon. We always recommend establishing you can obtain insurance and licensing for the treatments you wish to provide, in the area you want to work before enrolling for courses.
