Login
When booking online, you’ll receive a self-sign-up code with your automated payment receipt email. You may need to check junk / spam mail for this.
You can use this to set up your password and begin accessing your courses via our online student portal.
If you haven’t used self-sign up, our team will process your booking within 24 working hours and send a welcome email to set up your login details.
Students who have trained with us online some time ago, may be unable to use self-sign up as accounts will deactivate for security. Our team will reactivate your account within 24 working hours & add your new courses to your account. You can then login using your existing details.
Username is always your email address. Password can be reset via the login page.
After first login
Once you’ve set up your password the first time, you will need to use this link thereafter to access the online student portal: https://thebeautyacademy.litmos.com
What device can I use?
No matter what device you use, you must be connected to high speed, stable internet to ensure videos stream as expected.
For easy learning online, we recommend use of a pc or laptop.
Your device will need to have PDF reader (or an equivalent app) downloaded and up to date to ensure you can download and view resources correctly.
The portal is compatible with tablets and mobiles also, for learning on the go. Simply download the Litmos app which is free and safe from your device app store. Search for Litmos.
Once you’ve loaded the app, enter your ‘site’ in the box given as thebeautyacademy (no spaces) then enter your login details to sign-in on the app and begin learning wherever you are.
Forgotten password?
Your username is always the email address registered with us.
If you forget your password, click the option to request a password reset email on the login page of the Student Portal. The reset email may go to junk / spam mail so do check there.
Make sure you note your details somewhere securely or auto-save your password for future logins.
How long do I have to complete the course?
We allow 12 weeks access to the Student Portal to allow you to study the online learning resources at your leisure, complete the theory tests on the portal and download your practical assignment pack (case study information).
You have up to 12 months from the date of enrolment to practice treatments and submit your case study treatments to us to claim your course certificate.
Please ensure you take time to download the practical assignment pack (under ‘Additional References’ tab on your course on the portal) immediately and save a copy to your device for your future reference.
Most students typically complete their online courses within 2-6 weeks, as the portal can be studied online with access 24/7 to allow you to study around your other commitments and lifestyle.

Starting your course
On the portal you will find learning resources including e-manuals and treatment step by step demo videos to work through at your leisure, within your 12-week access to the portal.
You will be asked to complete some multiple-choice tests at intervals throughout the course, to help you check your understanding of the theory. You need to get 70% to pass the test but can retake instantly, as often as you need.
You will also need to practice treatments (case studies) at home on friends / family. Download the practical pack from the ‘Additional References’ tab within your course on the portal. This lists the specific treatments you need to complete and has the forms required to complete your case studies.
Submit evidence of your treatments once all three are complete, as guided by email to [email protected]
Completing your course
Once you have passed all tests and submitted your case study treatments, we’ll be in touch by email within 7 working days.
Your course tutor will evaluate your case studies to ensure you are achieving a good standard of treatment result and give you feedback as required.
If case studies are accepted, we will email your certificate to you. Alternatively, you will be guided to practice further and resubmit your case studies to us.
Once certificated, you can look to purchase insurance to begin offering treatments to paying clients. Details of recommended insurers can be found here: https://www.thebeautyacademy.org/insurance
